On January 1, 2024, the law on heat planning and decarbonization of heating networks (Heat Planning Act – WPG) came into force. It obliges the federal states to ensure that municipalities, rural districts, and other planning authorities develop a strategic plan for a climate-neutral heat supply by 2045.
